After working with children for 15 years, I decided to merge my career with my passion for yoga and starchild yoga was born. Maria Montessori’s philosophy of educating children compliments that of Kundalini Yoga for children so well that the natural synergy was pure beauty to me.

The benefits of yoga for children:

Children derive enormous benefits from yoga. Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation improves. Doing yoga, children exercise, play, connect more deeply with the inner self, and develop an intimate relationship with the natural world that surrounds them. Yoga brings that marvellous inner starlight that all children have to the surface.

Who can do it?

Any aged child who might be happy, sad, shy, lacking in confidence, challenging, anxious or just plain full of fun. Sessions last from half an hour to an hour. They can be one on ones, small or large groups, part of the PSHE curriculum at school, after school clubs, in health clubs or even informal gatherings in the local park.

Why starchild yoga?

I believe that all children are stars. With gentle attention, great yoga techniques and a whole lot of LOVE, your child will grow and blossom into the shiny star he was born to be.

“They should walk taller than the stars, be brighter than the sun and be as peaceful, bright and beautiful as the moon.” Yogi Bhajan
